Addressing Climate Resilience in Talensi
Story: Community Climate Champions
In Talensi, communities faced severe challenges from erratic weather patterns and soil erosion. Pemcoa Foundation’s climate resilience program equipped local farmers with tools and knowledge to implement erosion control measures and water-saving techniques. The program also introduced drought-resistant crop varieties. As a result, communities like the one in Gbeogo saw significant improvements in crop yields and soil health. Local farmers, now known as Climate Champions, have shared their knowledge with neighboring communities, creating a ripple effect of climate-smart practices and enhancing the region’s overall resilience to climate change.
